Fluke ii915 Acoustic Imager for Industrial Inspection

The Fluke ii915 Acoustic Imager is a professional acoustic imaging camera designed to help maintenance teams detect and assess problems that may be difficult to identify through conventional inspection methods. By converting acoustic signals into visual SoundMap™ images, the ii915 allows technicians to locate abnormal sound sources quickly while viewing them against a conventional visual image.

The ii915 is positioned by Fluke as its high-performance acoustic imaging solution for leak detection, partial discharge and mechanical anomaly inspection, making it suitable for large industrial facilities and demanding maintenance environments.

Advanced Acoustic Imaging

The ii915 covers a broad 2 kHz to 100 kHz frequency band, enabling detection of different types of acoustic anomalies. Its detection range extends from approximately 0.5 m to more than 120 m, allowing technicians to inspect equipment from a safer or more convenient distance.

The acoustic image is overlaid onto the visual camera image, making it easier to understand exactly where the abnormal sound originates.

Leak Detection with LeakQ™

LeakQ™ Mode is designed for locating and assessing leaks in compressed air, gas, steam and vacuum systems. The acoustic array detects the sound generated by a leak and displays its location through SoundMap™ imaging.

The ii915 can also provide a leak size scale, estimated leak rate and estimated leak cost, helping maintenance teams prioritize repairs based on potential energy loss and operating impact.

Partial Discharge Detection with PDQ Mode™

Electrical partial discharge can generate high-frequency acoustic emissions that may indicate developing insulation or electrical equipment problems. The ii915 extends acoustic detection up to 100 kHz, helping technicians locate potential partial discharge sources without requiring direct physical contact with the equipment.

PDQ Mode™ provides partial discharge type classification to assist with assessment and maintenance planning.

Mechanical Inspection with MecQ™

MecQ™ Mode is designed to identify mechanical anomalies, particularly in rotating and conveying equipment. The ii915 allows technicians to scan equipment without contact and use acoustic information to identify abnormal conditions.

This capability can support inspection of conveyor systems, rotating machinery and other mechanical assets, helping maintenance teams identify potential problems before they develop into costly failures.

Visual Inspection and Field Documentation

The ii915 combines acoustic imaging with a 5 MP visible-light camera and a 7-inch 1280 × 800 capacitive touchscreen. Images and videos can be stored internally, with capacity for more than 8,000 pictures or 1,600 videos according to Fluke specifications.

Integrated annotation and documentation functions allow users to record asset information, leak type, gas type, pressure, operating conditions, weather information and recommended actions. Asset IDs can also be entered manually or identified using QR codes.
