Endress+Hauser Proline t-mass I 300 Thermal Mass Flowmeter
The Endress+Hauser Proline t-mass I 300 is an insertion thermal mass flowmeter designed for direct measurement of gas mass flow in utility and process gas applications. Its insertion design makes it suitable for large-diameter pipes and rectangular ducts, with nominal sizes from DN80 to DN1500 (3 to 60 inches).
The instrument uses the thermal mass flow measurement principle, providing direct mass flow measurement across a wide operating range. It is designed to compensate in real time for changes in temperature, pressure, flow direction and gas type, helping maintain stable measurement performance under changing process conditions.
Direct Gas Mass Flow Measurement
Unlike conventional volumetric flowmeters, t-mass I 300 directly measures gas mass flow using thermal dispersion technology. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where gas consumption and process gas quantities need to be monitored accurately.
The flowmeter can measure utility gases, process gases and gas mixtures, making it suitable for compressed air, natural gas and other industrial gas applications depending on the selected configuration.
Long-Term Measurement Stability
A major feature of the t-mass I 300 is its patented drift-free sensor design. The sensor is designed to provide long-term measurement stability and is available with SIL 2 capability.
The sensor also compensates dynamically for changes in process conditions, including gas type, pressure, temperature and flow direction. This helps improve measurement reliability when operating conditions vary.
Wide Measuring Range for Large Pipes
The insertion configuration allows a single measurement point to be used on large process pipes and ducts, with sizes from DN80 to DN1500 (3 to 60 inches).
The specified gas measuring range extends from 20 to 733,501 kg/h, while the maximum measurement error is 1.0% of reading from 10–100% of full scale and 0.1% of full scale from 1–10% of full scale, depending on the operating conditions and configuration.
Bidirectional Gas Flow Measurement
The t-mass I 300 supports bidirectional flow measurement and reverse-flow detection. This is useful in gas distribution and utility systems where the direction of gas flow may change during different operating conditions.
Reliable detection of reverse flow can also help operators identify process disturbances and abnormal operating conditions.
Flexible Gas and Gas Mixture Configuration
The t-mass I 300 can be programmed for 21 standard gases or for freely definable gas mixtures. This provides flexibility when measuring different utility and process gases within the same plant.
This capability is particularly useful in industrial facilities where several gases or changing gas compositions need to be monitored without replacing the entire flow measurement system.
Circular Pipes and Rectangular Ducts
Unlike many conventional flowmeters designed only for circular pipelines, the t-mass I 300 can be used for circular piping as well as rectangular ducts.
This makes it suitable for large utility systems, ventilation-related gas measurement and industrial gas distribution applications where conventional inline flowmeters may be difficult or expensive to install.
Compact Proline 300 Transmitter
The Proline 300 transmitter provides a compact and accessible interface for measurement, configuration and diagnostics. The dual-compartment housing provides flexible installation, while the transmitter supports up to three I/O connections.
The transmitter features a backlit display with touch control and WLAN access, and a remote display option is also available. These functions simplify commissioning, operation and access to process information.
Advanced Diagnostics and Heartbeat Technology
The t-mass I 300 incorporates Endress+Hauser Heartbeat Technology, providing integrated verification and diagnostic functions.
Heartbeat Technology allows users to verify measurement performance and obtain additional device information without removing the flowmeter from the process. This can support predictive maintenance and improve measurement reliability.
