Endress+Hauser Proline Prosonic Flow 93T Portable Ultrasonic Flowmeter

The Endress+Hauser Proline Prosonic Flow 93T is a portable ultrasonic flowmeter designed for temporary flow monitoring, field testing and verification of existing flow measurement points. It uses clamp-on ultrasonic sensors, allowing liquid flow to be measured from outside the pipe without cutting into or modifying the process piping.

The portable design makes Prosonic Flow 93T particularly useful when a permanent flowmeter is not required or when operators need an independent reference measurement to verify an existing flowmeter.

Portable Clamp-On Flow Measurement

Prosonic Flow 93T uses non-invasive clamp-on sensors mounted directly on the outside of the pipe.

This allows operators to perform temporary flow measurements without:

  • Cutting the pipeline

  • Draining the process

  • Interrupting production

  • Installing a permanent flowmeter

  • Adding additional process connections

The system is therefore well suited to temporary flow measurement, troubleshooting and verification measurements.

Liquid Flow Measurement

The Prosonic Flow 93T is designed specifically for liquid volume flow measurement.

It can measure pure or slightly contaminated liquids and is suitable for a wide variety of industrial liquid applications.

Typical applications include:

  • Water flow measurement

  • Process water monitoring

  • Cooling water measurement

  • Industrial liquid flow monitoring

  • Temporary flow verification

  • Existing flowmeter verification

  • Process troubleshooting

  • Pump performance testing

Wide Pipe Diameter Range

One of the major advantages of Prosonic Flow 93T is its exceptionally wide pipe size range.

The clamp-on sensors can be used on pipes from:

DN 15 to DN 4000 (½ to 160 in).

This makes the portable flowmeter suitable for both relatively small process pipes and very large pipelines where installing a permanent inline flowmeter may be expensive or impractical.

Non-Invasive Measurement

Because the sensors are installed externally, Prosonic Flow 93T provides non-invasive flow measurement.

The ultrasonic signal passes through the pipe wall and interacts with the flowing liquid, allowing flow velocity and volume flow to be determined without direct contact with the process medium.

This is particularly valuable for:

  • Existing pipelines

  • Pressurized systems

  • Large-diameter pipes

  • Temporary measurement locations

  • Systems where process shutdown is not possible

Flowmeter Verification

A key application of the Prosonic Flow 93T is verification of existing flowmeters.

The portable instrument can be temporarily installed near an existing flowmeter and used as an independent reference measurement. Operators can then compare the measured values to identify potential deviations or performance issues.

This makes Prosonic Flow 93T useful for:

  • Flowmeter verification

  • Instrument troubleshooting

  • Preventive maintenance

  • Commissioning checks

  • Measurement comparison

  • Process optimization

Battery-Powered Operation

Prosonic Flow 93T operates independently of mains power using an integrated battery, making it suitable for field measurements at locations where a permanent power supply is unavailable.

The portable power supply allows engineers and technicians to move the instrument between different measurement points throughout a facility.

Integrated USB Data Logging

The instrument features an integrated data logger and supports simple data transfer using a USB stick without additional software.

This makes it convenient to collect field measurement data and transfer the results for further analysis or documentation.

The system is therefore well suited for maintenance teams and engineers who need to perform temporary measurements and document results.

Wide Liquid Temperature Range

Depending on the selected sensor configuration and pipe diameter, Prosonic Flow 93T supports liquid temperatures up to:

+170 °C (338 °F).

The specified temperature ranges include:

  • DN 15–65: -40 to +150 °C

  • DN 50–300: -40 to +170 °C

  • DN 100–4000: -40 to +80 °C

This allows the portable ultrasonic flowmeter to be used for a broad range of industrial liquid measurement applications.

No Process Pressure Limitation

Since the sensors are installed outside the pipe, the flowmeter itself does not introduce an additional process pressure limitation. Endress+Hauser specifies no limit for maximum process pressure.

This is a significant advantage for measurements on high-pressure pipelines where inserting an inline measuring device would require additional process engineering.

Suitable for Metal and Plastic Pipes

The clamp-on sensors can be used with:

  • Metal pipes

  • Plastic pipes

  • Lined pipes

  • Unlined pipes

  • Composite pipes

This provides broad installation flexibility for existing industrial piping systems.

Measurement Accuracy

The maximum measurement error is specified as:

±2.0%.

The maximum measuring range reaches:

0 to 452,389 m³/h, depending on pipe size and application conditions.

Display and Operation

The Prosonic Flow 93T features a four-line backlit display with Touch Control.

The portable interface provides access to measurement values and instrument information during field operation.
