Endress+Hauser Proline Promass A 500 Coriolis Flowmeter
The Endress+Hauser Proline Promass A 500 is a high-precision Coriolis flowmeter designed for accurate measurement of the smallest liquid and gas flow rates. It combines a compact single-tube sensor with a remote transmitter, making it suitable for demanding process applications where accurate low-flow measurement, installation flexibility and reliable process monitoring are required.
The Promass A 500 uses the Coriolis measurement principle, which provides direct mass flow measurement and is largely independent of fluid properties such as viscosity and density. In addition to mass flow, the instrument can measure volume flow, density and temperature, making it suitable for applications requiring multiple process variables from a single measuring point.
Designed for the Smallest Flow Rates
Promass A 500 is specifically designed for applications involving very small flow quantities. Its single-tube sensor is available in nominal diameters from DN1 to DN4 (1/24 to 1/8"), with a measuring range up to 450 kg/h.

Compact Single-Tube Sensor
The Promass A 500 features a compact and lightweight single-tube sensor designed for space-saving installation.
The measuring tube is self-drainable in all available line sizes, helping minimize residual product inside the sensor and supporting reliable process operation. The sensor is also designed to resist corrosive ambient conditions and internal clogging.
The wetted measuring tube is available in 1.4435 stainless steel (316/316L) and Alloy C22, depending on the selected configuration.
High-Pressure Low-Flow Measurement
Although designed for extremely small flow rates, Promass A 500 can operate under demanding pressure conditions.
The maximum process pressure is 430.9 bar (6250 psi), while the medium temperature range extends from -50 to +205 °C (-58 to +401 °F), depending on configuration.
This combination of very low flow measurement and high-pressure capability makes Promass A 500 particularly useful for specialized chemical and process applications.
Remote Transmitter for Flexible Installation
A major feature distinguishing the Promass A 500 from the A 300 is its remote transmitter configuration.
The sensor and transmitter are connected by a standard cable, allowing the transmitter to be installed separately from the measuring point. This provides greater flexibility when the sensor is installed in a restricted or difficult-to-access location.
The remote transmitter supports up to four I/Os, providing access to process and diagnostic information through flexible I/O and fieldbus configurations.
Flexible Connectivity and Digital Integration
The Proline transmitter provides numerous freely configurable I/O functions and fieldbus communication options.
This allows Promass A 500 to integrate into modern PLC, DCS and industrial automation systems, while reducing the need for multiple transmitter variants.
The transmitter also features a backlit display with touch control and WLAN access, simplifying commissioning, configuration and day-to-day operation.
