The Endress+Hauser Proline Promass A 100 is a highly compact single-tube Coriolis flowmeter designed for measuring very small quantities of liquids and gases. Its combination of a small nominal diameter, high measurement accuracy and ultra-compact transmitter makes it particularly suitable for applications where both precise measurement and limited installation space are important. 

Promass A 100 uses the Coriolis measuring principle, allowing direct mass flow measurement while also providing density and temperature information. Because Coriolis measurement is largely independent of physical fluid properties such as viscosity and density, the instrument can provide stable measurement performance across changing process conditions. 

Designed for Very Small Flow Rates

The defining characteristic of Promass A 100 is its ability to accurately measure very small liquid and gas flow rates.

The sensor is available with nominal diameters from DN1 to DN4 (1/24 to 1/8 in), with a maximum measuring range of 0 to 450 kg/h. This makes it particularly suitable for laboratory-scale processes, dosing systems, skid-mounted equipment and other applications where conventional flowmeters may not provide sufficient sensitivity at low flow rates. 

High-Accuracy Coriolis Measurement

Promass A 100 provides high measurement accuracy for both liquids and gases:


  • Liquid mass flow: ±0.1%

  • Liquid volume flow: ±0.1%

  • Gas mass flow: ±0.5%

  • Liquid density: ±0.0005 g/cm³ 

The instrument can measure multiple process variables, including mass flow, volume flow, density, temperature, corrected volume flow, reference density and concentration. 

This multivariable capability can reduce the number of separate measurement points required in compact process systems.

Single-Tube Sensor Design

The single-tube Coriolis sensor provides a compact measurement solution while maintaining the advantages of direct mass flow measurement.

The measuring tube is designed to be self-draining, supporting process safety and hygienic applications. Wetted materials include 904L stainless steel and Alloy C22, with 316/316L available for selected connections. 

Ultra-Compact Transmitter

The Promass A 100 features an ultra-compact transmitter housing, providing full measurement functionality while occupying minimal installation space.

This makes the instrument particularly attractive for:

The maximum process pressure reaches 400 bar (5800 psi), while the medium temperature range is -50 to +205 °C (-58 to +401 °F), depending on the configuration. 

This combination of small-flow measurement and high-pressure capability makes Promass A 100 suitable for specialized industrial applications where both characteristics are required.

Hygienic and Hazardous Area Applications

Promass A 100 offers approvals and certifications for a range of demanding applications, including 3-A, EHEDG and cGMP hygienic approvals.

Hazardous-area approvals include ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus, INMETRO, NEPSI and EAC, depending on the selected configuration. 

This allows the flowmeter to be used across pharmaceutical, chemical, process and other specialized industrial environments.

No Inlet or Outlet Straight Run Required

The Coriolis measuring principle does not require conventional upstream and downstream straight pipe sections for flow conditioning.

This space-saving installation concept is especially valuable in compact skids and equipment packages, where available pipe routing space is limited. 

Promass A 100 incorporates Endress+Hauser Heartbeat Technology, providing integrated verification and diagnostic capabilities.
