Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP52 – Guided Radar Level Transmitter for Aggressive Liquids

The Levelflex FMP52 is a premium guided radar level transmitter specially designed for continuous level measurement and interface measurement in aggressive liquids. Featuring a chemically resistant PFA-coated probe, the FMP52 provides reliable measurement performance in applications where conventional level instruments may be limited by corrosion, chemical attack or demanding process conditions.

Based on the proven time-of-flight guided radar principle, the FMP52 delivers stable measurement even when process conditions change, including variations in media properties, temperature, gas blankets, vapors or moving surfaces.

Reliable Guided Radar Measurement Without Process Interruption

The Levelflex FMP52 sends high-frequency electromagnetic pulses along the probe. When the signal reaches the medium surface or interface layer, part of the energy is reflected back. The transmitter calculates the level based on the measured travel time.

Because the measurement is guided along the probe, the FMP52 provides excellent signal reliability even in tanks with challenging conditions such as foam, vapor or turbulent surfaces.

Specially Designed for Corrosive and Aggressive Media

Many industrial processes involve liquids that are difficult to measure due to their chemical properties.

The FMP52 uses a gap-free PFA-coated probe, protecting the measuring components from aggressive process media while maintaining reliable radar signal transmission.

Typical applications include:

  • Chemical storage tanks

  • Acid and alkali tanks

  • Solvent vessels

  • Process reactors

  • Pharmaceutical production

  • Specialty chemical systems

For industries where measurement reliability directly affects production safety and efficiency, the FMP52 provides a durable and dependable solution.

Stable Measurement Under Changing Process Conditions

Process environments are rarely constant. Media characteristics, temperatures and surface conditions can change during operation.

The Levelflex FMP52 maintains reliable measurement performance despite:

  • Changing dielectric properties

  • Temperature fluctuations

  • Gas layers above the liquid

  • Vapor formation

  • Moving product surfaces

  • Foam conditions

Advanced Multi-Echo Tracking technology helps distinguish the actual level signal from interfering echoes, improving measurement confidence in demanding applications.

Continuous Level and Interface Measurement in One Device

The FMP52 is capable of measuring both total level and liquid interface levels.

It is suitable for applications such as:

  • Oil / water separation

  • Chemical phase separation

  • Settling tanks

  • Separation vessels

For clean liquid interfaces, the instrument can simultaneously detect the overall level and the interface position, helping reduce additional measurement equipment requirements.
