The iTHERM ModuLine TT152 is an imperial-style barstock thermowell for heavy-duty industrial temperature measurement applications.
Unlike a temperature sensor, the TT152 does not perform the temperature measurement itself. Instead, it provides a protective barrier around the temperature sensor, helping isolate the sensor from mechanical stress, chemical attack, high pressure and harsh process conditions.
The thermowell is drilled and machined from solid bar stock and can be configured according to ASME B40.9 or individual application requirements. It is available for pipes, vessels and tanks and can be supplied with threaded, weld-in or ASME flange process connections.

Suitable Applications
The TT152 is intended for temperature measurement installations where the sensor needs substantial protection from process conditions.
Oil & Gas and Petrochemical
Suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature process lines, vessels and equipment where temperature sensors require robust mechanical protection.
Power & Energy
Suitable for steam, boiler and other high-temperature process applications. The optional TwistWell design is particularly relevant to applications where high flow velocity can cause vortex-induced vibration.
Chemical Processing
The available material options allow the thermowell to be selected according to process temperature, pressure and chemical compatibility requirements.
Process Equipment and Industrial Skids
Suitable for temperature sensors installed in pipes, tanks and vessels where the thermowell must match specific process connections and immersion dimensions.
High-Pressure Industrial Processes
With configurations rated up to 500 bar static process pressure, the TT152 can be selected for demanding pressure applications. The actual pressure capability depends on the selected material, process connection and configuration.
Selection Notes
The TT152 is a highly configurable thermowell, so the complete order specification should be checked rather than selecting the product only by model number.
When requesting a quotation, it is important to confirm:
• Temperature range
• Process pressure
• Process medium and chemical compatibility
• Required immersion length
• Thermowell root diameter
• Process connection
• Head connection
• Material
• Tip shape
• Required surface finish
• Sensor/thermometer to be installed inside the thermowell
• ASME requirements or other applicable certifications
For high-flow applications, the iTHERM TwistWell configuration should also be considered. Endress+Hauser states that its helical design is intended to reduce vortex-induced vibration in high-flow applications.
FAQ
What is the Endress+Hauser TT152?
The TT152 is a barstock thermowell used to protect temperature sensors from mechanical, chemical, pressure and temperature stresses in industrial processes.
Is the TT152 a temperature sensor?
No. The TT152 is a thermowell. A separate temperature sensor or thermometer is installed inside the thermowell.
What is the maximum temperature of the TT152?
Depending on configuration, the specified temperature range is -200 to 1100 °C. The applicable limit depends on the selected material and configuration.
What is the maximum process pressure?
The maximum static process pressure is specified as 500 bar, depending on configuration. Pressure capability at 400 °C depends on the selected process connection and material.
What materials are available?
Options include 316/316L, 304/304L, Alloy 600, Alloy C276, A182 F22, A182 F11, A182 F91, A105, Duplex, PTFE-coated options and tantalum sleeves, depending on configuration.
What process connections are available?
The TT152 can be configured with threaded, weld-in or ASME flange process connections.
What tip shapes are available?
Straight, tapered, stepped and partly tapered configurations are available.
Can the TT152 be used in high-flow applications?
Yes. Endress+Hauser offers the iTHERM TwistWell helical design for demanding high-flow applications where vortex-induced vibration is a concern.
Can the temperature sensor be replaced without stopping the process?
The thermowell allows the thermometer to be maintained, recalibrated and replaced without interrupting the process, provided the installation is designed accordingly.
