Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC600 Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter

The Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC600 is a robust ultrasonic gas flowmeter designed for reliable gas measurement in demanding industrial environments. It is particularly suitable for process gas metering, internal allocation measurement and industrial gas applications where long-term stability, low maintenance and reliable measurement performance are important. 

FLOWSIC600 uses the ultrasonic transit-time difference measurement principle to measure volumetric flow, actual-condition volume, gas velocity and sound velocity. Its direct-path design and ultrasonic technology provide reliable measurement without mechanical moving parts, making the meter suitable for continuous operation in harsh process environments. 

Reliable Measurement in Harsh Industrial Conditions

The FLOWSIC600 is specifically designed for applications where conventional flowmeters may face demanding operating conditions. Its compact and robust construction, integrated cable routing and intelligent self-diagnostics help provide durable, fail-safe and low-maintenance operation.

The meter can handle operating pressures up to 250 bar(g), with higher pressures up to 450 bar(g) available on request. Depending on the hazardous-area certification, the medium temperature range can extend up to +180 °C. 

Wide Range of Process Gas Applications

One of the key advantages of FLOWSIC600 is its broad gas application range. The flowmeter can be used with natural gas, air, steam and various process gases, including CO₂, N₂, O₂, Cl₂, ammonia, ethylene, helium and argon. It is also suitable for gases with high H₂S concentrations, such as sour gas and biogas. 

This flexibility makes FLOWSIC600 suitable for oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical and other industrial gas measurement applications.

High-Accuracy Ultrasonic Gas Measurement

FLOWSIC600 is available in 2-path and 4-path configurations. The specified accuracy is up to ±1% for the 2-path version and ±0.5% for the 4-path version, while repeatability is better than 0.1% of the measured value. The actual performance depends on the application and configuration. 

The meter provides a large 1:120 measuring range, allowing reliable gas flow measurement across changing process conditions. Bidirectional measurement is also supported, making it useful for gas systems where flow direction can change. 

Intelligent Diagnostics and Process Monitoring

The integrated diagnostic functions continuously monitor the condition of the measurement system and can help detect potential problems before measurement performance is affected. FLOWSIC600 also provides process monitoring based on sound velocity, offering additional information about the measured gas and process conditions. 

The integrated logbook and data logger support operational monitoring and troubleshooting, while FLOWgate™ software provides convenient access for commissioning, configuration, measurement data and diagnostics. 

Low-Maintenance Design

FLOWSIC600 is designed with no mechanical moving parts in the ultrasonic measurement system, reducing mechanical wear and maintenance requirements. The ultrasonic transducers can also be exchanged under operating pressure, which can simplify maintenance and help minimize process interruptions. 

The instrument has a specified MTBF of 15.4 years, supporting long-term operation in demanding industrial gas measurement applications. 
