Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC600 DRU-S Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter
The Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC600 DRU-S is a compact and robust ultrasonic gas flowmeter designed for upstream gas production. It is specifically developed for challenging gas measurement applications such as wellhead measurement, gaslift measurement, associated gas measurement and raw natural gas measurement at gas treatment facilities.
The flowmeter uses the ultrasonic transit-time difference measurement principle to measure actual volumetric flow, actual volume, gas velocity and sound velocity. Its special wet-gas-resistant design allows continuous gas measurement even when the process contains high liquid loads, making it particularly suitable for upstream environments where conventional gas flow measurement technologies can be affected by wet or dirty gas conditions.
Designed for Wet Gas Measurement
A key advantage of FLOWSIC600 DRU-S is its ability to operate reliably in wet gas applications. Upstream production gas can contain significant amounts of liquid, condensate or other contaminants, creating difficult conditions for gas flow measurement.
The FLOWSIC600 DRU-S is designed to maintain continuous measurement even under continuous high liquid loads. Its titanium ultrasonic sensors are resistant to wet gas conditions and are designed for long service life in demanding upstream applications.
Wide Turndown Ratio
FLOWSIC600 DRU-S provides a turndown ratio of at least 100:1, allowing a single flowmeter to cover a wide range of gas flow conditions. This can reduce the need for multiple orifice plates or separate measurement devices when production flow rates vary significantly.
The flowmeter provides a gas velocity measurement range suitable for upstream gas production and offers repeatability of ±0.2% of the measured value between Qt and Qmax, depending on installation requirements.
No Additional Pressure Drop
The FLOWSIC600 DRU-S is designed to provide gas flow measurement without additional pressure drop. This is especially valuable in upstream gas production, where maintaining available process pressure can contribute to efficient gas transportation and production operation.
The instrument can operate from atmospheric pressure and is available for pressure ratings up to 100 bar(g) with ANSI Class 600, depending on the selected configuration. The specified medium temperature range is -40 °C to +100 °C.
Liquid Detection and Process Diagnostics
FLOWSIC600 DRU-S includes a dedicated liquid indication diagnostic function, providing additional information about liquid conditions within the gas measurement application. This capability can help operators monitor wet-gas conditions and identify changes that may affect the production process.
The flowmeter can also be connected to a Monitoring Box for plug-and-play remote monitoring of measurement and diagnostic data. This allows operators to access important flowmeter information without requiring frequent on-site intervention.
Low Maintenance and Remote Monitoring
FLOWSIC600 DRU-S is designed to reduce maintenance requirements in upstream gas production facilities. Its continuous diagnostics and remote monitoring capabilities can help eliminate unnecessary scheduled maintenance and allow maintenance activities to be based on actual device and process conditions.
Commissioning and configuration can be performed using FLOWgate™ software, which provides access to measurement data, configuration and diagnostics for FLOWSIC gas meters.
