Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC300 Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter

The Endress+Hauser FLOWSIC300 is an ultrasonic gas flowmeter designed for process monitoring and non-custody transfer gas measurement. It is particularly suitable for applications where custody transfer approval is not required, including internal measurement in natural gas networks and process gas measurement in the petrochemical industry. 

FLOWSIC300 uses proven ultrasonic gas measurement technology to provide reliable measurement of actual volumetric flow, actual volume, gas velocity and sound velocity. With no mechanical moving parts in the measurement principle, the instrument is well suited to continuous industrial operation where dependable measurement and reduced maintenance are important. 

Wide Measuring Range for Gas Applications

The FLOWSIC300 provides a gas velocity measuring range of 0.3 to 60 m/s, depending on the nominal pipe size. This wide range allows the flowmeter to handle different gas flow conditions in natural gas and petrochemical process applications. 

The instrument is available for nominal pipe sizes from 4 to 56 inches, with operating pressure specifications from 10 to 100 bar(g). This makes FLOWSIC300 suitable for both medium and large-diameter gas pipelines and process piping. 

Ultrasonic Measurement Without Mechanical Moving Parts

The ultrasonic measurement principle provides a durable alternative to mechanical gas flow measurement technologies. By using ultrasonic signals to determine gas flow characteristics, FLOWSIC300 avoids mechanical components that can wear during continuous operation.

The product incorporates proven technology and components derived from Endress+Hauser's rugged custody-transfer-quality gas flowmeters, providing a high-quality measurement solution even though FLOWSIC300 itself is intended for applications where custody transfer approval is not required. 

Simple Installation and Low Installation Costs

A major advantage of FLOWSIC300 is its combination of high-quality components, a wide measuring range, simple installation and low installation costs. This makes it an attractive option for internal gas measurement and process monitoring projects where a high-performance ultrasonic flowmeter is required without the additional requirements of a fiscal custody transfer system. 

Process Monitoring in the Petrochemical Industry

FLOWSIC300 is well suited to petrochemical process monitoring, where reliable gas flow information is required for process control, performance monitoring and operational optimization.

It can also be used for internal measurement in natural gas grids, providing continuous flow information without requiring the instrument to meet custody transfer approval requirements. 

Intelligent Diagnostics and Communication

The FLOWSIC300 can be configured with diagnostic and communication functions for integration into industrial measurement systems. It provides RS-485 communication and supports digital outputs for operating status, malfunction, limit values, warnings, maintenance and check-cycle signals.

The FLOWgate™ software provides access to measurement data, configuration and diagnostics, helping users commission and maintain the ultrasonic gas flowmeter efficiently.

Hazardous Area Applications

For installations in hazardous environments, FLOWSIC300 is available with ATEX hazardous-area approval. Its ultrasonic transducers are intrinsically safe, supporting use in appropriate gas measurement installations within the petrochemical and natural gas industries.
