Accurate CNG Mass Flow Measurement
The Endress+Hauser CNGmass D8CB is a Coriolis flowmeter specifically designed for CNG dispensers and high-pressure natural gas refueling applications. It measures CNG mass flow accurately and is largely independent of pressure, temperature and other physical fluid properties.
High-Pressure CNG Refueling
Designed for demanding CNG dispensing systems, the CNGmass D8CB supports process pressures up to 350 bar (5080 psi) and flow rates up to 150 kg/min (330 lb/min). This makes it suitable for high-pressure vehicle refueling applications where reliable flow measurement is essential.
Coriolis Multivariable Measurement
The Coriolis measuring principle allows the instrument to provide multiple process variables from a single measuring point, including mass flow, density, temperature, volume flow, corrected volume flow and reference density.
Compact Installation
The CNGmass D8CB has a compact sensor and transmitter design for installation in space-constrained CNG dispensers. Its Coriolis principle also eliminates the need for conventional inlet and outlet straight pipe runs, helping simplify system design and installation.
Wide Measuring Range
The flowmeter provides a measuring range of 0 to 150 kg/min, with a nominal diameter range of DN8 to DN25 (⅜ to 1"). Mass flow accuracy is specified at ±0.5% of batch.
Robust High-Pressure Construction
The wetted measuring tube is manufactured from 1.4435 (316L), while the process connection uses 1.4404 (316/316L). The device supports medium temperatures from -50 to +125 °C and features a robust IP66/67, Type 4X enclosure.
Modbus RS485 Communication
The CNGmass D8CB uses Modbus RS485 for digital communication and supports DC 20–30 V power supply. Its transmitter has a compact housing and pre-configured device options to simplify commissioning and system integration.
Safety and Approvals
For applications requiring hazardous-area certification, the CNGmass D8CB is available with ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus, NEPSI and INMETRO approvals. A rupture disc option is also available for additional process safety.
