Advanced Data Logging

One of the main advantages of the Fluke 289 is its integrated data logging capability.

The meter can monitor electrical signals over time while the technician performs other work. Logged readings can then be displayed graphically using TrendCapture, allowing changes, fluctuations and abnormal conditions to be identified without immediately connecting the meter to a computer.

The TrendCapture function supports up to 14× zoom, providing greater detail when analyzing measurement trends. The meter can store up to 15,000 recorded readings/events.

Low-Pass Filter for VFD Applications

The built-in low-pass filter is designed to provide more reliable voltage and frequency measurements when working with adjustable-speed motor drives, variable frequency drives and electrically noisy equipment.

This makes the Fluke 289 particularly useful for industrial drive and motor troubleshooting where conventional multimeter measurements can be affected by electrical noise.

LoZ Voltage Function

The LoZ low-impedance voltage function helps eliminate ghost voltages that can occur due to capacitive coupling between energized and de-energized conductors.

50 Ω Resistance Function

The Fluke 289 includes a dedicated 50 Ω range with 1 mΩ resolution and a 10 mA source current.
